On 28th April Richard Trubshaw notified the Board of Managing Agency Partners Limited (MAP) that, having now performed the role for 15 years, it was his intention to step away from his current position as Active Underwriter of MAP’s Syndicate 2791 with effect for the 2023 underwriting year. He will continue as Active Underwriter of MAP’s Special Purpose Arrangement 6103 and remain on the Board of MAP as an executive director until further notice.

It is proposed that Richard Trubshaw’s Active Underwriter role will pass to existing MAP’s Underwriting Director, Chris Smelt, who joined MAP on its formation as a property reinsurance underwriter, before switching to casualty underwriting alongside David Shipley who was Active Underwriter from 2000 to 2007.

Richard Trubshaw will remain in an underwriting role with Syndicate 2791 for a transitionary period of at least 24-months during which he will carry out a handover process to Chris Smelt in respect of the property treaty portfolio which he currently oversees and provide continuity for clients and brokers alike.

All proposed changes to senior management functions, roles and responsibilities are subject to regulatory discussion and to any/all relevant regulatory approvals.
