On Wednesday, Hurricane Ian was upgraded to a Category 4 windstorm with winds having increased to near 140mph.

Storm surge inundation is expected as high as 12 to 16 feet above ground level.

Having previously anticipated landfall in the densely populated city of Tampa, computer models are now suggesting that landfall will be made to the south, between Sarasota and Fort Myers.
