Simon started his career in the Insurance Industry back in 1982.Simon leads the Personal Lines Property Cat and the Casualty & Professional Lines portfolios. He was previously CEO of Willis Global Solutions International and prior to that was Managing Director of Marsh Bermuda FINPRO for ten years. Simon was also responsible for setting up the London and Lloyd’s operation for Gulf Specialty UK Limited (part of Travelers Group) where he held the position of Chief Underwriting Officer.

Olivia has 5 years’ underwriting experience and shall perform a diversified function of Underwriting and Underwriting Support. Prior to Verto, Olivia was at Ark Syndicate in the Property D&F team and Property Binders team. Olivia has achieved a number of awards within the insurance industry recognising performance in innovation, underwriting and in the ACII exams. Prior to working in insurance, Olivia received a First-Class degree in Geography with European Study from the University of Exeter.

Giles began his career at Lloyd’s in 1981 working as a marine broker for Bain Dawes Plc. In 1988 he joined Wren Underwriting Agencies as a Members’ Executive, subsequently becoming deputy chairman. While there, he became a founding director of Cathedral Capital Plc, a group conversion scheme for Members set up in 1997. In 2001 he joined CBS, and in 2006 moved to Hampden following Hampden’s purchase of CBS.

Studied accounting. As an Accountant he has a long experience in insurance companies, starting with Hansa Industrial Insurance N.V. in 1993, which became Sampo Industrial Insurance Group NV in 1996, went in run-off in 2002 and was bought by the Hampden Group. Since 2008 Jos became CFO of Hampden Insurance Group and the run-off entities Hampden Insurance N.V. and NVML. In 2013 the remaining run-off portfolio from Hampden Insurance N.V. was transferred to NVML.

Nick Carrick joined Lloyd’s in 1977 to work on the non-marine underwriting box of C.E. Heath & Co Limited. After two years broking with Horncastle, Crawford and West, he moved to the underwriting agency side in 1983. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and was appointed Chairman of Hampden Underwriting Research in 2002. He underwrites at Lloyd’s through a NameCo.

Andrew is a qualified actuary and brings over 24 years of market experience.  Andrew is responsible for overseeing price sufficiency and exposure management of the Verto portfolio. Prior to Verto, Andrew served as structured deal broker for Guy Carpenter as well as overseeing the analytic offering of the retrocessional division. Andrew, has also been an underwriter and actuary for Brit and was Head of Office for Brit Gibraltar where he served on the Board.

Nicholas d’Ambrumenil trained as a Lloyd's Broker between 1964 and 1965 before transferring to a Lloyd's Syndicate until 1969. After 16 years in the Army he joined Stewart Members Agency in 1986 as a Name’s Executive before transferring to CBS in 1995 and Hampden Agencies in 2005. He has underwritten at Lloyd's continuously as a Name from 1988, converting to a Limited Liability Partnership in 2007.

Jeremy joined Minories Underwriting Agencies in 1993, which was subsequently transferred to Aberdeen Underwriting Advisers limited with specific responsibility for its corporate capital plans, including the development of a conversion scheme for existing Members. He is the CEO of Nomina Plc as well as being a director of Hampden Capital Plc.

John has been a director of Hampden Capital Plc since 2008 with responsibilities for corporate strategy and a research director with Hampden Agencies since 1999 where his responsibilities include syndicate analysis, (re)insurance market research, syndicate regulatory issues and market relations. He has co-managed Hampden's market-leading MAPAs since the 2002 account and writes Hampden's annual Market Report and Auction Preview. John was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, where he read Medicine and has a law degree, LLB (Hons), from the University of London.

Neil has been working in the Lloyd’s market for over 28 years, starting with the Corporation of Lloyd’s in 1986. He joined Falcon Agencies Ltd and then transferred to Hampden Agencies in 1989. Having been in charge of the Lloyd's Capacity Auctions and Distribution exercises of Names' profits, in 2007 he became an Assistant to several Names’ Members' Executives. Neil has been responsible for administering Hampden's function of buying and selling Limited Liability Vehicles (LLVs) since 2010, he also been responsible for looking after the affairs of a portfolio of Members.

Tim is responsible for underwriting specialty reinsurance lines and the placement of Verto’s outwards reinsurance.  Tim brings in-depth market knowledge and strong relationships.  He previously served as an underwriter at Sompo International Re (ex Endurance Re) in Zurich. He started in Lloyd’s with Bain Dawes handling marine & energy reinsurance and subsequently held senior broking roles in Alexander Howden / Aon and Guy Carpenter.

Stephen joined the group in 1994 having previously worked in the accountancy sector. He initially worked in group finance prior to qualification as a Chartered Company Secretary and setting up the Group Secretariat function. He was Group Company Secretary, then appointed Group COO in January 2012, and was then appointed to be the Group CEO in 2016.

Charles started his insurance career with the brokers Chandler Hargreaves Whittall, and in 1982 moved to another firm of brokers, Richards Longstaff and then to Willis Faber & Dumas Agency in 1985. Willis Faber became Bridge Underwriting Agencies in 1998 which was acquired by Hampden in 1999. Charles is ACII qualified and underwrites through a NameCo with his wife.

Alex is Verto’s Pricing Actuary. He has over 4 years’ experience in general insurance and reinsurance and is an almost fully qualified actuary. Prior to Verto, Alex was at Argo Global where he built and operated pricing models across many lines of business. Alex brings with him significant experience of predictive analytics and will use his programming skills to harness modern pricing and ‘data science’ techniques.

35 years broad experience in re/insurance and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner (ACII). He began his career with a Lloyd’s marine & XL syndicate and later moved across to risk management in the oil industry. Neil relocated to Bermuda in the 1980s to work in APH run-off claims at a property/casualty and captive company. On returning to the UK he joined Hampden working for over 10 years in management of outsourced run-off until transferring in 2001 to Axiom as an operational Director. Currently leading the run-off of a long standing large North American client having re-joined Hampden in 2014. Based in London.

Prior to Endurance Re, Peter was a member of the Executive Committee and  Strategic Underwriting Officer for Tokio Millennium Re. Peter has held roles at Cologne Re, MIACM, XL and Gerling

Stephanie is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians and has been advising individuals on taxation matters since 1997. A specialist in personal taxes she acts for a wide range of private clients including members of Lloyd’s, entrepreneurs and High Net Worth Individuals with the preparation of income tax returns and tax planning.

Started in 1986 as a cargo broker with Aon, also handling casualty, financial lines, claims handling and management. Meanwhile Elbert-jan finished his law study at the Erasmus University. Ten years later he joined Sampo Industrial Insurance followed by Bloemers Nassau Insurance also as MGA of which the last two years as a Board member. He was responsible for casualty, financial lines and claims. In 2011 Elbert-jan led the establishment of a branch office of Markel International. At the end of 2016, he became the CEO of Hampden Insurance Group BV in Rotterdam specializing in run-off.

Tim has been Chairman and majority shareholder of the Hampden Group since the mid 1970’s. Originally a Lloyd's broker, he has overseen the development and expansion of the Group to its current form over the past 40 years.

Richard joined the Corporation of Lloyd's in 1971 working in the Registrars, Underwriting Agents and Brokers and Membership departments. In 1977 he joined K.F. Alder Underwriting Agency Ltd, becoming a director of a number of Lloyd's Managing and Members' Agencies in 1986, before being appointed Managing Director of Oxford Members' Agency in 1990. In 1994 he was a founder equity director of Falcon Agencies which was subsequently acquired by Hampden in 1998.

Professionally qualified since 1992, Heather has worked in the insurance and reinsurance industry for 30 years. Heather joined the Hampden group in 1993 having worked for a major reinsurance company in an underwriting role. In 2000 Heather became the Account Executive for a wholly owned insurance company, a position she still holds. In 2001 she was transferred to Axiom as an operational director involved in outsourcing projects and client reporting. Since returning to Hampden in 2005 she has managed the UK based legacy business and is located in Hampden House.

Roger began his career in Lloyd’s in 1971 at CT Bowring and Co Ltd. He became a director of Bowring Aviation and subsequently Non Marine Treaty Reinsurance specialising in Spanish speaking areas. In 1985 he became a director of Bowring Members Agency and in 1994 he joined Wellington Members Agency as a director. Wellington Members Agency merged with Stace Barr and was acquired by CBS in 1999. In 2005 Roger joined Hampden Private Capital now Hampden Agencies Ltd. Roger’s first year as a member of Lloyd’s was 1973.

Alistair has worked in Lloyd’s since 1973, primarily as a reinsurance broker, starting at Bland Welch, moving on to Seascope and then the SBJ Group, a publicly quoted company, where he was on the Board. He was the Managing Director in London for HCC Insurance Holdings. He has held a number of non-executive roles. He has been in charge of marketing since 2010.

Gregory joined John Polands, a large Members’ Agent in 1986. He also worked for Caudle Hilsum, Scott Caudle Hilsum and Vantage before joining Wren in 1994. In 2000, Gregory joined Hampden Agencies Ltd and was a Director of Hampden Private Capital. Gregory is a Private Client Director and has set up a number of corporate Vehicles for Ark, Atrium, Cathedral, Heritage (now Argo), Illium (now HCC) and MAP. Gregory also looks after a number of influential members of Lloyd’s. He is a member of Hampden Underwriting Research's committee.

Nigel joined the Corporation of Lloyd’s in 1995 and worked on both the Reconstruction & Renewal and distribution systems. In 2000 joined CBS and joined Hampden following the sale of CBS in 2006 and now looks after the affairs of Members of Lloyd’s.
