Hurricane Ida - Sunday morning 8:00am

Hurricane Ida is the ninth named storm of the 2021 season, the fourth hurricane, and the second major hurricane of the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season.

Ida has 115mph winds and is a category 3 hurricane and according to the latest advisery from NHC:

Ida is now a category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson 
Hurricane Wind Scale. Rapid strengthening is forecast to continue 
during the next 12 hours or so, and Ida is expected to be an 
extremely dangerous major hurricane when it makes landfall along the 
Louisiana coast this afternoon. Rapid weakening is expected after 
landfall.

According to Aon, Ida is expected to strengthen to a category 4 storm.

Ida's track is available by clicking here. It is heading for Louisiana and in particular Intracoastal City, located 172 miles west of New Orleans and 200 miles approx east of Houston. Likely to bring 10 inches of rainfall to New Orleans, and storm surge of 7 to 11 feet along the affected area of eastern Louisiana. New Orleans issued a mandatory evacuation order for areas outside its levee system.

Ida intensified rapidly Friday from a tropical storm to a hurricane with top winds of 80 mph (128 kph) as it crossed western Cuba.
