John Neal Lloyd's CEO leaves Lloyd's for Aon
Lloyd's Chief Executive Officer John Neal is set to leave Lloyd's this year to join the global broker Aon. Lloyd's press release here.
John has been in the role of CEO for six years since he joined Lloyd's in 2018 having joined from QBE where he was the group CEO for over five years.
John will join Aon as global chief executive of reinsurance and global chairman of climate solutions, with his date of departure from Lloyd's yet to be set.
John said of his departure "I will be forever grateful to my colleagues and many others across the Lloyd’s market for the opportunity to put in place a framework that has delivered strong and sustainable financial performance and positions Lloyd’s for future success.
At Aon, I’m looking forward to supporting colleagues as they look to serve clients’ reinsurance needs and deliver smart insurance solutions that help address some of the world’s most pressing challenges, especially with regard to the climate transition."
John was instrumental in transforming the market through the Future at Lloyd's strategy and continuing with the industry-leading Decile-10 approach of remediating the worst performing classes of business. During his tenure, he faced the challenges of several natural disasters, Brexit, Covid-19 and Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
John's departure comes as Lloyd's prepares for former Treasury civil servant Sir Charles Roxburgh as next chair of Lloyd's from 1st May.
John leaves our market in robust financial strength and we wish him well in his new role and offer our thanks for his service to the market.
